Email from our artist, Ms Alicia Marrano, she is making our new tile logos for Rincon.
“My work on the project is moving along well. Here are my totals with supplies and labor so far:
Supplies
Marjon Ceramics = $485.66
Home Depot = $96.99
Blick Art Supply = $78.80
Total supply cost = $661.45
I will also need to get materials from Santa Rita Steel for the frame for the mosaic wall hanging wall piece.
It is not easy to know how much that will be. I am guessing that it will be about $300 more for supplies at most.
Is it ok for that to be completely round to decrease the total size and weight of the project? I will include the original date and the new date inside of the mosaic circle. I can include Paula's signature on both as well.” (How about including our class as donors.)
“Labor
Researching clay, glaze, and best practices for large tile construction = 3.5 hours
Shopping for supplies = 3.25
Analyzing photos for tile color count and artistic style practice = 1.75
Preparing materials for tile making = 2.5
Total = 11 hours @ $60 per hour = $660
The tiles will be one inch thick and I have an idea of how to protect it from being walked on. I will be making the big ones tomorrow. I will clock 6 more hours of work this weekend. If I have time I will make as many small tiles as possible too.

At the last lunch the group decided that round was fine and that we should trust Ms. Marrano’s decisions about the two tile logos she is making for us.
We have given Ms. Marrano $2000.00. This will cover supplies and payment for her work. We have $1300.00 left in our account. It is expected that we might possibly need more to cover further expenses including supplies, cost of the placement of the two logos, etc. We are accepting more donations.
