About Me Associate Professor, Northwestern College- Chicago,probably best just to look at my LinkedIn profile. As an Associate Professor, at Northwestern College, I teach classes in Composition, Fundamentals of College English, Introduction to Psychology, Business Communication, Professional Development, Advanced Composition, Freshman Seminar, Critical Thinking and Logic,Ethics and Effective Speaking. Students rated me one of the top three Instructors, Spring 2010. As a fundraiser, I have raised more than $100,000,000 for non profit causes and I have multiple sales awards ( $10,000,000 in sales). The numbers refer to major, corporate, foundation and planned gifts, annual funds, special events and grants. Serving my community is also a major part of my life. I have served on the Diversity Task Force, served as an aide to a State Senator and a State Representatives in Arizona, Chaired the Oak Park, Il. Community Relations Commission, served on the Diversity Task Force, Citizens Police Oversight Commission and was elected as a Village Trustee in Oak Park, IL. (2003-2007)( Finance Committee), Villager of the Year 2003 (Wednesday Journal). Former Executive Committee Member Village Manager Association and Village Citizens Alliance, former member New Leadership Party, NLP Nominee for Village President, VCA Nominee (and winner) Village Trustee. During my career, my employers have asked me to train sales personnel and Boards of Directors in sales, marketing, business use of technology and fund development. Academically I have a B.A. Ed from the University of Arizona (Magna cum Laude) with a major in Political Science and a M.A. in Communication from Arizona State University and an "almost" Ph.D. in Child Development from the U of Tennessee.
