| About Me | I'm married to Loren Bykerk for 60 yrs. as of June 16th, 2022. We have 2 sons, a daughter, six grown granddaughters, 2 great-grandsons, 5 great-granddaughters. We live outside of Prescott AZ. We have lived in Tucson, Clarkdale, Cottonwood, Prescott, Williams, Glendale/Phoenix and now Walker through our life journey. My husband was with the telephone co. for 30 yrs when he retired. I worked for Publicity agency in Tucson and the AZ Pioneers Historical Society in Tucson, Verde Valley Community Health, a law office in Prescott and then First National/First Interstate Bank for almost 20 years and am retired from Wells Fargo. Loren and I formed and ran an S Corporation in the Phoenix area. for 18 yrs. We retired again in 2005 and moved to family property in Walker where we always planned to retire. In retirement, and 12 yrs ago, we formed an Arizona Non-Profit, 501(c), Walker Community Action Alliance, Inc (WCAA) and became a Firewise Community USA in 2010. I am an active member of Daughters of the American Revolution, Colonial Dames of the 17th Century, Daughters of the American Colonists and Mayflower Society. I'm working on applications for Jamestowne, and First Families of North Carolina. I served as AZ State President of Colonial Dames and AZ State Regent for DAC. For 7 years I was very active with the Red Cross serving as a Yavapai County Disaster Captain and Shelter Manager. I've deployed to New Mexico, and 2 times to North Carolina to run Hurricane shelters for Florence and Dorian and do damage assessment. Currently I am co-chair for AZ State DAR Volunteer Genealogists Committee, State Chaplain for Colonial DAMES and State Recording Secretary for DAC. I am a genealogist doing applications for DAR, DAMES and DAC and privately on the side. Many other activities over the years primarily dealing with Arizona State Parks and Yavapai Co Emergency Management - CERT. I am a Stephen Minister and have served in that capacity for 7 years. Between family, Non-Profit WCAA, my heritage societies, genealogy research and my church/Stephen Ministry, I am and we are as busy as ever in our lives. We both enjoy the projects and activities where we are involved and are almost as busy as ever in life. We have been blessed to have survived these 60 years married, all together 62 yrs, including dating, through all of the turbulence life brings. I forgot to mention another important activity of my life. I was a member for 20 years of the Arizona Pride performance and competition clogging team.
