About | Obituary On Sunday, August 23, 2020, Mark Patton loving husband, father, papa and friend passed away at home at the age of 61. Mark was born on January 30, 1959 in Santa Maria, California to Earl and Gail (Grafft) Patton. He attended Righetti High School where he met the love of his life Diane (Scheide) Patton. The began dating Mark’s sophomore year of high school and the rest is history. After graduating from Righetti High School in 1977, he went straight to work as a carpenter for the Carpenters Local 1800 until he retired to Idaho in 2007. Mark and Dianne were married October 20, 1984. Shortly after they were married they started a family. They raised two children Bobbie (Patton) Murchison and Thomas Patton. Mark had a passion for hunting and fishing and being outdoors; which he shared with his family and friends. If the weather was good you could bet he would be out enjoying some fishing and in his “younger years” diving. Hunting, on the other hand, it didn’t matter if there was a blizzard. If the season was open he was going out. While Mark enjoyed sharing his passion of hunting and fishing with all, this is truly where he and his son Thomas had a bond. Mark and Dianne are amazing examples of what it take to make love work. Through hard times and good times there was never a doubt of love and devotion they shared. It was this amazing bond that carried them through the hardest time of their life. Mark was diagnosed with ALS in 2012. He fought so hard and so long with this horrible disease. Despite the struggles, he was going through he always had a smile for everyone. He loved going to the casino with his wife Dianne; hitting a jackpot always put a big smile on his face. Smiling and laughing with his grandkids as they learned to shoot the same gun he learned on. Making the trip to California to see Thomas get married to his wonderful wife (Jenna). Dancing in the house or in the car with Bobbie to old rock. He loved having family and friends come to visit. When thinking about all the things that will be missed it was truly the simple things that come to mind. For Thomas, it was being able to go hunting and fishing with his dad or just being able to call him after a trip and tell him all about it. For Bobbie, it’s getting to see her dad’s face when he sees his grandkids or just saying something as simple as “Hi Daddy”. Mark is survived by his wife Dianne, their children Bobbi (Eric) Murchison, Thomas (Jenna) Patton, his grandsons (Peyton & Sawyer Murchison), his granddaughter (Brooke Patton), his parents Earl Patton & Gail Patton, his sister, and a great extended family. |
