Hey Kids,
Being Labor Day weekend, the weekend of our traditional end of summer Kawanis Fair followed by the beginning of the new school year, I thought it was a good time to kick off the official planning of our 50th class reunion celebration next year.
I’m looking to plan a weekend of events next Sept after the school year opens. I would like to start with a Friday picnic in a local park with some basic prepared foods and beverages. If there is a home football game that evening, a tailgate party and the game. If not, an evening pre reunion gathering at the local Marriot Hotel’s lounge or other. Saturday morning/afternoon a tour of the school with lunch in the school cafeteria. Saturday evening the main event at a nice but casual establishment and follow up back at the Marriot’s lounge or other. Sunday morning church services at local churches to accommodate anyone interested followed by a noon brunch at the Washington House (the Store). I will also work to set up room blocks at the Marriot and other places for those staying for the weekend.
At this time to get started, I really need a potential head count from you (you and your guest if joining you) for each event to proceed. This is not a final commitment if things were to change on your end. Please work with me on this:
*Friday afternoon picnic (price to be determined)
*Friday evening football game/Pre Reunion gathering (Leftovers from picnic for tailgate?/Out of pocket lounges?)
*Saturday school tour and lunch (BYO, plenty of places in town to get something from)
*Saturday evening main event (price to be determined)
*Sunday church service & which church (Catholic, Presbyterian, Methodist, Lutheran, etc)
*Sunday Brunch (Out of pocket)
I’m attaching the current contact list I’ve been working on. Please look it over and advise me of any additions or changes if necessary. If any of you can help with the missing or non-confirmed that would be really appreciated also. I realize the event is a year away but I really need your information ASAP to get started and avoid losing out on anything. Please follow up with me with a Yes or No for each event and how many if ”Y”.
