About	Thomas A. Smorzaniuk BETHLEHEM Thomas A. Smorzaniuk, 57, died peacefully on Friday, June 23, 2017, at St. Luke's University Hospital in Bethlehem, PA. Born Dec. 12, 1959, to Adam and Waltraud Smorzaniuk, he was raised in Union, NJ, later moving with his parents to Millington, NJ, at age 14. After graduation from Ridge High School, Basking Ridge, NJ, in 1978, he attended Engine City Tech in Union, NJ, and achieved his certification as a diesel mechanic. He and his family moved to Oxford, NJ, in 1979, where he resided ever since. Throughout his life, he enjoyed tinkering with engines, restoring and riding motorcycles, playing the guitar, having fun with family and friends, and playing with his dogs. He was preceded in death by his father, Adam. He is survived by his beloved wife, Catherine McGarvey; his son, Andrew L. Smorzaniuk of Clinton, NJ; his mother, Trudy Smorzaniuk of Oxford, NJ; his sister, Eva M. Smorzaniuk (Philip E.L. Dietz, Jr.) of Trappe, MD, and his constant companion, Trapper, who is still waiting for him to please throw the ball. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 29, at 1 p.m. with a time of visitation from 11:30 a.m. until time of service in the DeVoe Funeral Service (www.devoefuneral.com), 136 West Washington Ave., Washington, NJ. Burial at Pequest Union Cemetery in Great Meadows, NJ, will immediately follow the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Common Sense For Animals, P.O.
