Jason and I both played guitar. I remember being 11 years old and taking lessons at Mikes Music Center and his lesson was before mine. I’d always try and catch the end of his lesson so I could see what he was doing. He was already learning to play Purple Haze while I was still learning Home on the Range!
Years later as adults we hung out quite a few times and were both playing classical guitar by this time and again, he was ahead of me on that again and was playing these difficult Bach pieces. I also have a memory of him reading Faust.
One of the coolest and unique people from our home town.
