About	Timothy Rex Bolen left for heaven in March of 2022 at his home in Oregon City. He was born in May of 1959 in Portland. Tim is survived by his wife, Trish Bolen, his sons, Jack and Garrett, his daughter, Paige, and his stepson, Nathan Patton. He is also survived by his mother, Dee Bolen, his brother, Kerry Bolen (Ava), and his sister, Julie Brown (Wayne), as well as by numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Malcom, and his brother, Steve. A Celebration of Life service will be held Friday, May 13, 2 pm, at Athey Creek Christian Fellowship, 2700 SW Ek Rd, West Linn, OR 97068. Tim graduated from Rex Putnam High School in Milwaukie, where he was an outstanding wrestler and student body president. He graduated in communications from Washington State University, where he led the sports rally squad. Tim was well-loved and respected by his classmates at all levels of his education. He was hardworking, enterprising and affable. He possessed what some describe as “the gift of friendship,” a personal quality that made each of his friends feel like they were his best friend. During his 30-plus-year career in mortgage and real estate, he helped his clients to feel the same way. He doggedly sought the best deals for the people he served. To further aid the community he loved, Tim served as a member of the Royal Rosarians. Tim also had a visionary and ingenious mind. Over a decade before the Covid-19 pandemic turned up single-serve disposable communion cups, Tim had created and coined “Dove Communion Cups.” He was also the first yacht broker in Portland, and he owned and operated an inflatable boat enterprise in Seattle. Tim’s faith in Jesus Christ was at the core of his boundless energy and enthusiasm for life. After graduating from college, he served as personal assistant to Dr. Bill Bright, president and founder of Campus Crusade for Christ. Traveling at Dr. Bright’s side to 64 nations, his mentor called Tim “the most capable assistant I ever had.” Tim and Trish shared a passion for adventure, travel, and for each other. Their relationship and their marriage created a ten-year love affair that was centered around their love for God, which led them to cherish each other with deep devotion and respect. Ever the idea-man, Tim never stopped talking about new ways for helping other couples to find the joy that he and Trish had found by building their marriage upon their relationship with Jesus. Trish encouraged him to keep praying and dreaming even when his health was failing. She tenderly and prayerfully managed his care in their home until he took his final breath. Upon reading the numerous comments on his Caring Bridge page, Tim was both encouraged by and concerned for his many friends he would be leaving behind. “If God takes me home,” he said, “I don’t want people to think their prayers didn’t count. I don’t want them to give up on God. I haven’t. He has a plan, and His plan is bigger than mine. God is not vindictive. He is loving and kind. He has made a way for all of us to know Him through His Son, Jesus Christ. We are all eternal beings, but where we spend eternity depends on what we decide to do about Him. Since we will each live forever, it is all about 'location, location, LOCATION!” In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you send donations to Legacy Hospice or to the Cancer Association of America in Tim's memory.
