Kyle Pollard (Gary L Kyle)
Class of 2000
In 2010 Kyle entered Pro Am drifting with a goal of qualifying for his formula D pro drifting license. In October 2010 at the Pro Am event in Irwindale, California at Toyota Speedway, Kyle finished fourth and earned his formula D pro drifting license.
2011 brought new opportunities for Kyle as he began construction of his formula D drift car, a Sylvia S13. Moving back to Portland from the Seattle area Kyle teamed up with a new sponsor, P S I, Portland Speed Industries. The 2011 drifting season was not kind to Kyle as his car was plagued with several mechanical issues. As a result Kyle had to reapply for his pro drifting license in 2012.
2012 formula D season was a little more successful for Kyle and PSI. Although he did not qualify for the first race in Long Beach California, he finally had his car dialed in for formula D drifting. He competed in formula D events at Seattle and Las Vegas. And although he did not finish in the top 16 he finally had his car where it would be competitive.
Kyle broke the rearend in his Sylvia K car and was unable to attend the final event in Irwindale, California at Irwindale Speedway.
