Marsha Kay (Martee) Messer Pawlik

Attention: RCHS class of '73.
It is my sad duty to report that we have lost another of our classmates. Martee (Marsha)Messer Pawlik died yesterday (Friday, Oct. 5, 2012) in Michigan City where she has lived for the last 32 years.
Many of you probably don't know that Martee had a car accident 29 years ago that left her a paraplegic. She has lived in a wheel chair ever since. About 5
years ago her health starting failing but she was still able to go out and go places. She came down for my daughter's bridal shower last June, Bonnies wedding in August and my daughters wedding in September. That was the last I saw her until about 3 weeks ago (all winter she had been too ill to have visitors.) 5 days after I saw her, they put her in the hospital for two weeks. She came home last Sunday with hospice care, a breathing tube and food tube. But getting better was not really an option this time. Her sister Cheryl called me Friday afternoon to tell me she had passed.
She so wanted to make it to our 40th alumni next summer.
Funeral arrangements are at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel in Michigan City. Visitation Monday 4-8 and Funeral Tuesday 10-11.
