Class of 1976
Marine Corps, 3 Years
Served from August 1976 to August 1979. Graduated from basic training at Parris Island, SC in the top 10 of his platoon and promoted to Private First Class (E-2). Stationed at Camp Geiger, NC, Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan and Camp Lejeune, NC. Was selected to compete in the Far East Division Rifle & Pistol Matches, Okinawa, Japan - March 1978. Saw "sea duty" aboard U.S. Navy ships while deployed to the Caribeean sea in 1977 and 1979. Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) as an 81mm mortar platoon Forward Observer, and as a Primary Marksmanship Instructor. Military decorations include: Expert Rifle Marksman medal (3rd award), Expert Pistol Marksman medal and the Good Conduct medal. Honorably discharged on August 24, 1979 at the rank of Corporal (E-4).
