About Me Laetitia S. Wells a native of Reidsville, NC, is the youngest daughter of Mrs. Margaret C. Wells and the late Mr. William N. Wells Sr. She experienced a conversion experience with Jesus Christ at the age of 8 and was baptized at Zion Baptist Church, Reidsville, NC. At a young age, Laetitia served as pianist for the Junior Choir, BTU and Girl Scouts. She was the editor of the Zion Times, a monthly newsletter published for Zion Baptist Church. After graduating with honors from Reidsville Senior High School, she attended Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. While at Virginia Tech she was a featured soloist with a singing group called the New Virginians. This group performed for civic events and various corporations around the country. While in the New Virginians, Laetitia received the “Outstanding Soloist” award. Two thousand of singers/dancers auditioned to perform for the 1980 Presidential Inaugural Gala, Laetitia was chosen along with 200 other singers/dancers to sing at the 50th Annual Gala for President Ronald Regan. She left Virginia Tech to pursue a music career, but God had other plans. She felt a call from God to preach and teach God’s Word. After 25 years she returned to college and enrolled at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and joined C N Jenkins Presbyterian Church. Minister Wells graduated cum laude from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte on May 12, 2007 and received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Religious Studies. She is a lifetime member of Golden Key International Honor Society and a lifetime member of the Gamma Rho Chapter of Alpha Sigma Lambda National Honor Society. Laetitia was the 2007 - 2010 recipient of the Thomas B Mackie Merit Scholarship for theological studies from McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago, Illinois where she graduated with a Masters of Divinity degree on May 15, 2010. She served on several committees while attending McCormick Theological Seminary: Deacon, Academics Program Committee -student representative and Moderator for PASO (Pan African Student Organization), Worship Educational Assistant and Session. While serving in the capacity of Worship EA, she advertized worship events and wrote several articles for the seminary newsletter. Also, Laetita was a writer for the Advent and Lenten reflections booklet published by the seminary. Laetitia was also selected to represent McCormick Theological Seminary in Lake Tahoe at the Presbyterian Racial Ethnic Seminarians Conference. While at McCormick Theological Seminary she worked at RESCUE counseling women who were experiencing issues in domestic violence. Also, Pastor Wells counseled many individuals with mental health issues. After graduating from McCormick Theological Seminary, she accepted God’s call to become the supply (temporary) pastor at Mattoon Presbyterian Church, Greenville, SC. Currently, Rev. Laetitia Wells serves as the supply pastor at St. Paul Presbyterian Church, High Point, NC. and served as a delegate to the 57th Commission on the Status of Women at the United Nations. The theme of the Commission was “The Elimination and Prevention of All Forms of Violence Against Women and Girls.” Minister Wells is a prolific preacher who has preached not only in the United States but Sekondi, Ghana (West Africa), Barranquilla, Colombia (South America) and Ntagache, Tanzania. Minister Wells traveled to Ntagache, Tanzania with an ecumenical group, Good Shepherd Fellowship and Teamwork Ministries, to the country of Tanzania. There at City of Hope in Tanzania she worked 300 children in an orphanage and preached and trained pastors in the region.
