John W Driscoll

I served in the USN Submarine Service aboard the diesel submarine USS Barbel SS 580 1961-1962. Following service on the Barbel, I attended a year of training at the Navy Nuclear Power School in New London, Connecticut and Idaho Falls, Idaho, I was then assigned to the USS John C Calhoun SSBN 630 which was under construction in Newport News, VA. I participated in all the sea trials and on deterrent patrol from 1963-1965. I was then assigned to the USS Francis Scott Key SSBN 657 which was under construction at Electric Boat in Groton Connecticut. Once again I participated in all the sea trials and one deterrent patrol 1965-1968
