About Douglas "Dougie" John Schiller, 74, of Clements passed away peacefully on October 24, 2025, at St. Cloud Hospital surrounded by his children. Doug was born in Springfield to Edward and Mildred (Timm) Schiller. He was raised on the family farm in Sundown Township alongside his 16 brothers and sisters, where he learned the values of hard work, family, and community. During high school, Doug met the love of his life, Marcia Whittet. The two were inseparable and were married on October 28, 1972. They shared a beautiful life together until Marcia's passing, 21 months before his own. Doug graduated from high school in 1969 and went on to attend Lineman School in Jackson. After completing his training, he began his lifelong career with Redwood Electric Cooperative Association, where he proudly worked for 45 years. As with all linemen, he often worked long nights on call and had plenty of stories to tell from his years as a lineman. He was also a proud retiree of the Clements Fire Department, where he served his community and enjoyed firemen's dances and Santa Claus Days. In his free time, Doug absolutely loved fishing, camping, and spending time with family and friends at Sauk Lake. These are some of his best memories. He enjoyed muzzleloader hunting for deer. He could often be found driving his side-by-side around the area to visit friends and loved ones. A die-hard Minnesota Vikings fan - despite their ups and downs - he never missed a chance to cheer them on. Doug also enjoyed playing cribbage, pull tabs, and bean bags, always surrounded by laughter and good company. Above all, Doug loved his family. He cherished every moment with his children and grandchildren and held their happiness close to his heart. He is survived by his son Jon (Nicky) Schiller and their daughter Briella; his daughter Nicole (Jeremy) Dove and their children Abby, Wyatt, and Gavin; siblings Don (Margret) Schiller, Joan Springborg, Janice Kettner, Lola Dahmes, Lorene Elg, Darvin (Ardis) Schiller, Elizabeth (Lloyd) Jacobson, Jolene Krueger, and Dan (Vicki) Schiller; and in-laws Rodney Leopold, Jim Schmidt, Jean Schiller, Tom Whittet, and Steve Whittet. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Marcia; his grandson Jacob, his parents; siblings Roberta Johnson, LouAnn Leopold, Eileen Raddatz, David Schiller, Kay Schmidt, Dennis Schiller, and Charles Schiller; and many other dear brother-and sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews whom he loved dearly. Dougie will be remembered for his hard work, humor, and generous heart. His legacy of kindness, laughter, and love for family will live on through everyone who knew him.
