About James Ronald Lindeman was born with his twin brother, John, on March 3rd, 1937, to Ervin and Ida Velma (Tetrick) Lindeman at Redwood Falls Hospital. He was baptized and confirmed at New Avon EUB Church and grew up helping on the family farm east of Wabasso, MN. Jim attended country school until 7th grade and later graduated from Redwood Falls High School in 1956. He then explored the United States with his friend, Jesse Nolting, before attending Worthington Junior College. While displaying some impressive dips and turns at the Morgan Roller Skating Rink, he met the love of his life, Carlotta Kersten. They married on March 3rd, 1962 and were blessed with one daughter and three sons. When he lived in Redwood Falls, Jim worked at Sawvell’s Feed and Seed in Clements. He eventually moved to the Kersten family farm outside Springfield to tend the fields and raise livestock. He moved into town in 2009 but could still be found driving a tractor or helping on his sons’ farms from time to time, always willing to work the land. Jim thoroughly enjoyed the outdoors and seeing new places with his family, whether traveling by bike on the Multiple Sclerosis (MS) TRAM, water skiing and boating on area lakes, or camping near and far. He also enjoyed watching Westerns and sports on TV but nothing competed with watching his children and grandchildren performing on stage or playing their favorite sports. His family and faith were of utmost importance. Jim was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, served on the church council, taught Sunday School, ushered and sang in the choir. He also served on the Redwood Area Cattlemen’s Club, and Gideons.

Jim is survived by his loving wife, Carlotta; children, Joy (Todd) Wells, Cary (Cynthia) Lindeman and Peter (Chrystal) Lindeman; grandchildren, Amanda (John) Blum, Zachary Wells, Kylee (Seth) Madsen and Erika Wells, Grant Lindeman and Trinity (fiancé Owen) Lindeman, Chase, Porter, Edison, and Beckett Lindeman; great grandchildren, Wade, Peyton and Owen Blum, Paisley Madsen; twin brother, John (Delores) Lindeman; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Paul James Lindeman; parents, Ervin and Ida Velma Lindeman and father and mother-in-law, Carl and Ruth Kersten; siblings, Harold (Dorothy) Lindeman, Warren (Thelma) Lindeman, and Sue Ann (Norm) Cleveland; niece, Judy Burchill; and nephews, Scott Cleveland and Rene Lindeman.
