Ice breakers – ideas for your first chat room meet up
o Introduce yourself and where you live. How did you end up there?
o Which teachers do you most fondly remember?
o Talk about what’s changed so much: for example, girls only got permission to wear pants to school during our senior year at RHS.
o What classmates do you still stay in touch with?
o What was your favorite off campus place to eat?
o What was your first job after high school?

Rotate rooms and circulate during the 2 hours: perhaps every 30 minutes or so

Please suggest and provide the committee input for the 2025 reunion
o What suggestions do you have for the committee about what you want to do, how you want it to run, and where to hold it
o Any interest in joining the committee?

If you have any questions at all, just contact Kevin Mowll at kevmowll@outlook.com Cell: 805-451-4563

I remember installing the 4-track tape deck in my 1963 Ford Falcon station wagon. Technology had arrived! Soon afterwards, someone stole it from my car, and I upgraded to the brand new 8-track format right away. New technology! Sometime after that, Neil Armstrong set foot on the moon. Our generation was experiencing unprecedented technological progress. We felt blessed and special as a generation. Check out a segment of the video produced by Keith Johnson and several of our classmates in the way back machine. https://photos.app.goo.gl/DRP7yxJJicGy4PRE7

Here we are now, swimming in technological innovation some 50 years later. Who would have guessed at the wonders, and thankfully, we have the millennials and Gen X kids around to help us keep up.

Necessity has always been the mother of invention, and the pandemic gave us virtual work tools for remotely doing a lot of what we always assumed had to be done in person. So here we are with the virtual reunion! For some, it seems a bit daunting, but it is pretty intuitive and just requires jumping in and giving it a try. Unlike trying a bicycle for the first time, rock climbing, or scuba diving, if you make a mistake, there is no big downside risk. Instead, there is only one upside: you get to meet up with long lost friends or make new friends from people you missed out meeting in high school! If you mess up, there is our friend, Vicky, who will be operating the program and has lots of experience coaching folks who tried this platform for the very first time.

51st Class of 1970 flashback reunion November 18

To everything (Turn, turn, turn)
There is a season
And a time to meet up for a reunion!

In case it slipped your mind, get out your calendar! It’s remote but real! A 2-hour meet up when old faces are new again, and new faces are there for opportunities that you missed 51 years ago. Just like the Hollies: Bus stop, wet day, she's there, I say, "Please, share my umbrella"

• What: reunion virtual style
• When: November 18, 2021, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm Pacific Time (or 9:00 p.m. for in Denmark and noon in Alaska and Hawaii)
• Where: from your computer, tablet, or phone, Down on the corner, Out in the street, Willy and the Poor Boys are playin',
• How much will it set me back? Bring a nickel, tap your feet

What? This is like “Zoom with rooms” in the white room at the station:
• Meet friends in virtual lounges of four to eight
• Meet up coffee tables for three
• Find a nook or cranny for one-on-one
• Hop from table to lounge to cranny
• Step back to see who is where in the big room and jump into the conversation just like you did in high school
