About Me	I have been very lucky in my employment, as I started out at Norton AFB in the data processing arena, became a computer programmer, moved to LA worked a few years at Baker Oil Tool now Baker Hughes International, then spent 25 years at Kaiser Permanente in Los Angeles wound up as one of three application systems managers in the hospital and medical office side of the business. I installed their Pharmacy, Medical Records, Home Health, Hospice, Radiology, Pathology, OR Scheduling, as well as several other systems. However, I felt best in installing the first automated clinic records system in a four doctor clinic module at Clairmont Mesa down San Diego way in the ‘84 - ‘85 time frame. This system was written up in JAMA (Journal of the American Medical Association) to prove the cost effectiveness and acceptance of an automated system by the doctors. Now at this time 22 years later I see that Kaiser Permanente has fully installed an automated medical system in the So Sacramento, and Baldwin Park medical centers finally. They are having some problems but I know they will continue on. It was this system by the way that found the problem with the drug Vioxx. I took early retirement in ‘95 and spent the next nine years as a consultant in the Minneapolis area as we moved there to get out of LA smog. Retired since 2004. Now I’m just fat and happy. I play with my dogs and oh, yes, I’m also quiet healthy, at least for the time being, who knows what tomorrow brings. ...(read more)
