Help Feed Red Jacket Students!

RJPTSA GIVING TREE ORNAMENTS
This year, over 40% of our Red Jacket children are eligible for free or reduced

Breakfast and Lunch at school. Unfortunately, many of our students go hungry

on holidays and weekends when they are not at school.

In response to this growing need, the Red Jacket PTSA is working in collaboration with Red Jacket School District and Foodlink of Rochester to bring the BackPack Program to our schools beginning in January 2015. This program provides children who are at risk with consistent hunger with a backpack of food to make SIX meals at home on the weekend.

Good nutrition is critical to good health and success at school.

Children who don’t get enough to eat often have trouble concentrating, receive lower Math and English scores, have difficulty interacting with their peers, trouble finishing tests on time, and lower graduation rates. Our goal is to provide nutritious food for children in a discrete manner every week and reduce hunger in our school in a real and effective way.

We hope to sponsor up to 12 elementary school children for the rest of the school year.

The RJPTSA is partnering with Foodlink, who will provide the complete packs of food every week. Packs cost $5 per week, per child. You can sponsor a child for a week ($5), a month ($20),

the rest of the school year ($125), or any amount you choose to be put towards a year. We will hang an ornament on our tree in the school office with your name on it as thanks!

As we enter into the seasons of Gratitude and Generosity, we encourage you to look after the children of our own Red Jacket Community. Please send your donation to the RJPTSA by December 19th 2014.
