Walker Johnson Obituary
Walker has left this earth to be with his Lord. He was born on March 5, 1945 in Springfield, MA. At the age of 72 he passed away after a long bout of COPD.
Walker is survived by his wife, Carmen; his son, Zachary Johnson, Hamburg, Germany; and daughter, Melissa Johnson, Chicago, IL; a sister, Laurie (Jim) Coulter, Overland Park, KS; a brother, Mitch (Patty) Johnson, Odessa, MO, and Claudia Montoya, Wilfred (Josie) Barela, JR, Marcella (Fermin) Barela Torres, Lorraine (Ricardo) Ryals, all in Albuquerque, NM; and 21 nieces and nephews.
Walker was predeceased by his parents, Annie Johnson and Robert Johnson; a nephew, Jason Johnson; his maternal grandparents, John and Hazel Carrico Laurie; his paternal grandparents, George and Ethel Dittermore Johnson; the mother of his son, Renate Freund; as well as numerous, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was also predeceased by his in-laws, Wilfred Sena Barela and Edwina Garcia Barela; and brother-in-law, Randolph Barela.
Walker was a true patriot and served our country as a SSGT with the Air Force in Vietnam. He was currently employed as an air traffic dispatcher for the Dept. of Defense at Biggs Airfield in El Paso, TX. Friends may visit on hour prior to a funeral service Wednesday, March 7, 2018, 10:00 a.m. at FRENCH â€" Lomas. Interment will follow in Santa Fe National Cemetery at 2:15 p.m.
