Relay For Life!!

Relay For Life is a fun-filled overnight event designed to celebrate survivorship and raise money for your American Cancer Society. During the event, teams of people gather at schools, fairgrounds or parks. They take turns walking, jogging or running laps. Each team tries to keep at least one team member on the track at all times during the event.

Cancer Survivors and their Caregivers begin the Relay with the first lap and are celebrated at the special reception. Luminarias are lit at dusk to either remember those who have lost their fight with cancer or honor those who have survived. If you know a Cancer Survivor, we would love to have them be a part of our opening ceremony.

Relay For Life is also a fundraiser. Teams solicit donations; have garage sales, car washes, bake sales, restaurant night and more.

Who Participates in Relay?

Friends, families, relatives, local businesses, schools, hospitals, churches, service clubs and other organizations that organize teams participate in Relay. Anyone can participate in Relay For Life! We are asking you to share this information with everyone and encourage them to form teams. It’s a great way to bond together, boost morale and increase your visibility in the community and support a great cause.
The Relay For Life of North West Baltimore County had 20 teams (over 250 people) who participated in 2009
