| About | Chicago Sun-Times obituary 5/31/2016: " The much-beloved Chicago actor died early Sunday at 72 of lung cancer, according to actress Ami Sylvestri, his partner of 24 years...Dennis Kelly had the aura of the classic song-and-dance man of times past. Debonair in a casual, off-handed way, he possessed a beautiful voice and joyful personality that not only lit up many Chicago stages, but also could be heard in several musicals on Broadway and beyond." His classmates also remember his joyful personality and his full baritone voice in the Concert Choir, the Acapella Choir, and the role of Curly in "Oklahoma!" He was a good friend to so many of us. |

I was a dancer in Oklahoma and got to know Dennis and loved his voice. When I got married in 1965 Dennis sang at my wedding. It was really nice of him!!

It was obvious to us '61 classmates who saw Dennis as Curly in "Oklahoma!" that he had the talent for greatness. It's so nice to find someone who lives up to his potential, as so few of us do. Ya done good!

As a Marine pilot, I flew jets across OKLAHOMA for 25 plus years. I always smiled, sang and remembered Dennis and the entire school cast of that outstanding 1961 Class performance, So happy to have seen Dennis again at our 50th. THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES!
