Most of us viewed our first Chevrolet El Camino when Ron Kiker drove his new, white 1959 'Bashful Bunny' to school In January 1959. That fine machine joined the 'Blue Rocket' and 'Yellow Canary' as flagship vehicles in the 'CAM CRACKERS' Car Club at Rancho 59-60. Kiker had the lead in driving the Homecoming Queen and her court in new Plymouth Convertibles on parade at the game's halftime.

During college years, Kiker joined with me to create K&C Enterprises; operating coin laundry equipment in Orange County, and a summer in Tahiti shooting travel log films for Channel 13. Ron married the girl next door, Roberta Morley, in 1964, and they were both on the cover of a hot rod magazine with his fine collection of red and chrome fast movers. As graduation approached, Thelma Butts at the Draft Board caused Kiker & Cunningham to sell; ending a business partnership that should have lasted a lifetime.

I will never regret my long career as a Marine pilot, but will always regret having to end my business partnership with Ron Kiker.
