Favorite School Memory	Two stand out: (1.) helping to tear down the goalposts with George Johnson (and others) after football team's very first victory in 1964; and (2.) observing Mr. Bernard's drastically elevated impression of me as a student in his Advanced Senior Reading class merely because of my very public accomplishments (in winning state debate tournament and Seattle's "best speaker" award) made him look good as head of the English Department. Because he did not initially like me, I had stopped trying to earn decent grades in his class. But, immediately after he learned of these public honors to the school (and in his mind to him as the Dept.
