David Vanderford
Class of 1991
Navy, 17 Years
While serving 17 years as a Aviation Electronics Technician I have been to more countries than I ever thought possible. I was able to serve on the USS Simon Lake (AS-33), USS Emory S. Land (AS-39), Mid Atlantic Regional Calibration Center (MARCC), NRD Indianapolis, USS John F. Kennedy (CV-67), South East Regional Calibration Center (SERCC), and finally the USS Carl Vinson (CVN-70).My wife Amy and I were blessed with four wonderfull children Austin 15, Layla 12, Dawson 7, and John-James 5. I am proud to say that I was able to serve my country in Operations Iraqi Freedom, Enduring Freedom and Sea Dragon. 17 years seems as a long time for most but here I am at my last hitch till I hit 20 years and retirment and I honestly can say the time has flown by.
