I last saw John in December 1994 as he and his mom and dad, Betty and Ray, drove up from Tucson to Phoenix, AZ as I was attending a national campus ministers' meeting. I corresponded with Betty for years until her passing. She and Ray had introduced me to Cursillo in 1974 while we were talking in their living room on Hillcrest Avenue. John and Keith Silva were the only two folks to visit me after my right knee was injured during the Granville football game in the Fall 1974. I have always appreciated their kindness and thoughtfulness in that gesture throughout the years. Rest in Peace, Bear.
