Sgt. Michael E. Dooley of Pulaski, VA died at the age of 23 on June 8,2003. Dooley was a member of the U.S. Army 1st Squadron,3rd Armor Cavalry Regiment based in Ft. Carson, CO. Dooley died when he was manning a traffic control post and occupants of a car asked for help for a sick friend and then opened fire in Asad in western Iraq near the Syrian border.
