Allen loved to hunt and fish. It was always his dream to move to Montana or Wyoming. He achieved his dream and was a sheriff's sergeant for Missoula County, Montana. He stopped one Fred Van Dyken for stealing gas from a local service station. Van Dyken pulled a gun and shot him without warning. Allen left a wife and two children.
