Air Force, 4 Years
Served in U.S.A.F. from 1967 through 1971. Stationed in Minot AFB, N.Dakota(SAC) from 1967- 1970. Maintained Runway/ Taxiway lighting systems. From 1970 -1971 served at Bien Hoa, AB,RVN. Head Scheduler- Civil Engineering Squadron.Left service with rank of Sergeant.

David Walter Meigel

Served for over 20 years as a percussionist within various US Air Force Bands across the country and Hawaii. David has appeared on over 12 Compact Disk and LP recordings, NPR Radio and television broadcasts featuring military bands and music. He has been in concert with artists from the music, movies and stage as Eddie Albert, Trisha Yearwood, Lee Greenwood, Toni Tenille, Count Basie, Bob Hope, Constance Towers, and others. David also served in the Civil Air Patrol, beginning in 1987 - receiving his commission as a squadron communications officer, and rose through the rank of Major and completed his service as Deputy Commander for the Northern California Group 25 Headquarters before his retirement in 1996. David is a graduate with honors of the USAF NCO Academy, and the USAF/CAP Squadron Officer's School.

I was an Avionics Instruments Systems Technician for 6 1/2 years and worked on many different aircraft including T-38, T-37, F-4D, A1E, C-130 gunships, B-52, KC-135, and others. I was a Master Technician in the Strategic Air Command at McCoy AFB in Orlando, Fl. I served tours in Texas, Calif., Fl., Thailand, Spain, and Guam I got out in 1973 and then reenlisted in 1975 as a Ground Radio Technician. I served 3 1/2 years at Ft. Hood as an enlisted Forward Air Controller (ROMAD). I then worked at NASA as a contractor for 30 years helping build and operate the Shuttle and Space Station simulators and mock-ups and training the ground controllers and astronauts on the computer and communications systems. I started dating my Poway HS sweetheart in 1965 and married her in December of 1967 and we are still happily married today.
