About Me	My wife, Joyce Usel Hubka, and I were married in 1968. I graduated from CSU in 1970 and we moved to Vancouver, WA. where I taught Junior High School Art and was assistant Track and Basketball Coach for two years. We returned to Colorado in 1972 and I taught Art and coached the Boys Tennis Team at FCHS for two years. I transferred to Poudre High School in 1973 part time and permanently in 1974 and became Chairman of the PHS Art Department and Art instructor for 29 years before retiring in 2002. I earned my Masters Degree in Ceramic Chemistry in 1983 from the University of Northern Colorado. I designed and built my Pottery Studio in 1975 and had several one-man pottery shows in the region for 30 years. I earned my Private Pilots license in 1984. I received the Poudre School District “Distinguished Teacher Award” in 1999. I was the originator and chairman of the life size Bronze Impala Sculpture project at the entrance to PHS from 1996 to 2002 and helped other Alumni establish the Poudre Impala Foundation. Joyce and I have been married for 55 years and we have no children. We live 4 miles North of Ft. Collins on 4 acres with two horses and Chaz the cat. My stepfather, Leonard Hubka, died in 2000 and my mother, Helen, passed in 2011. I have written two Fly Fishing Books, Modern Midges in 2009 and Modern Terrestrials in 2013 for the Publishing Company Stackpole Books in Pennsylvania. My interests and hobbies include fly fishing, fly tying, tennis, golf, restoring and tinkering with Porsches, traveling throughout the USA and Europe and participating in yearly Porsche Club of America ...(read more)
