Class of 1978
Air Force, 10 Years
I Graduated June 11,1978.
Was in the United States Air Force on the 14th of June 1978.
Graduated USAF Basic training July 27,1978.
Went to Security Police training and after Graduating went to Malmstrom AFB,Montana to Guard the Nuclear Missile Arsenal.
Consisting of Minute Man 1, 2 and 3 Missiles. Capable of hitting the Soviet Union in 30 minutes or less.
Then in March 1980 I was sent to Germany for 3
LONG years. Yes 3 LONG YEARS.
It was COLD, DAMP and RAINING most of the Summer...and it was Cold,Damp and Raining for most of the Fall and yes the same in Spring....in early November...It Snowed and it Didn't Quit until late April...
I left Germany in March 1983...and Went to New Mexico....10 months there and off I went to Illinios for Aircraft/ Airframe Repair School....AKA Sheet Metal Class.
I was the Class Leader and After Graduation I went to Dover Delaware where I worked on the Aircraft that I guarded in Germany. After 4 years, I received orders for Okinawa
But I didn't want to spend another 3 years over sea's.
And we had Family problems at home...So I got out and move to Orlando, Fl. to take care of my parents.......One Day I will come home to Pottsgrove...
