PCS "Apollo13" Connection......

11 April 1970, NASA launches spacecraft "Apollo 13" to make the second moon landing. Two copies of the "history" of the PCS Panthers and the names of (7) Panther football players from the Class of 1961 and one from Class '63 were on the way to the moon. As everyone knows, Apollo 13 ran into trouble just before the landing with the air purification apparatus and had to use all available material on board to jury-rig a carbon dioxide filtering system.....the two pieces of paper with the PCS Panther history and football players names were used in the air filter system.

The guys names headed to the moon:
Dr. Chuck Bennett, NASA astronaut employee and trainer.
LtCol Don Bonsper, USMC Naval Academy VietNam 1967.
Jim Hawks, SUNY Maritime College Engineer Consultant.
Dr, Boyce McDivitt, U of Buffalo, USN, Dentist Portville.
LtCol Earle Monroe, Air Force Academy VietNam 1967.
Dick Anderson, Brockport State, Lt. USMC VietNam 1967, Health & Physical Education teacher PCS 1970-2004.
***Norm Kahler (1945-2013) Class 1963, Oswego State, Peace Corps (India) Superintend. Schools Appleton, NY.
