Friends of PHS Arts and Athletic Complex Fund
Hello PHS Alumni,
I am currently on the committee that is trying to raise funds for a new turf football field and track at PHS. We are going to try and reach out to our alumni and have a CHALLENGE. The condition of the field has deteriorated. It is not a regulation sized track, it can no longer be resurfaced and the community may not host any league meets. The central field it saved for games only and is in deplorable condition . Basically, both the track's and field's uneven surfaces pose a safety issue for our young athletes. The new proposed "synthetic turf" field and track will be a centerpiece for the Portsmouth community.
The cost of the new track and field is $1.6 million. We have raised $578,000.00 so far. The CHALLENGE will be which alumni class can raise the most money in support of the new track and field. The challenge for us is to get the word out to all of the alumni classes. The winning class will receive a banner which we will put up on the new track and field which states the Class of **** and that they supported our efforts, etc.
We will soon have a donation button on the PHS Boosters website for you to go to and donate. Please make sure that you put your graduation year in the memo portion so that we know which class to give the credit to. Hopefully you are up for the CHALLENGE and will help us reach our goal of $1.6 million!
