About Me	Graduated from UMKC-School of Medicine in 1993. Began my Internal Medicine Residency training at Fitzsimmons Army Medical Center (FAMC) in Aurora, CO (which also began my 7 years in the army). Graduated from FAMC June 1996 and was transferred to Ft. Riley where I spent a year. In February, 1997 I married Scot Lewey, DO whom I had met at FAMC even though he grew up in Liberty! He has 3 children from a prior marriage, Josh who is now 23, Aaron 21 who just transferred from William Jewell to UMKC, and Rachel 18. In July 1997 the army transferred me to Evans Army Community Hospital at Ft. Carson, Colorado Springs, CO so I could be with my husband. About 6 weeks later I was sent to Kuwait for 3 months. I finished out my obligation to the army in June, 2000 with an Honorable Discharge. I began private practice a couple months later. Our son, Jacob Ryan was born November 26, 2000. By the end of 2001 I realized that if I ever wanted to actually see my husband and see my son more I should cut back on work. So, I did, but it didn't work so I resigned to be a stay-at-home-mom! The first 6 months flew by and I realized I barely missed work and haven't worked since. My daughter, Kerstin Elin, was born March 8, 2003. Rachel graduated from a local private high school in May, attended a summer course at Colorado College here in Colorado Springs this summer. Scot was honorably discharged from the army in 1998 and has been in private practice since. We stay busy with Jacob's sports which have included T-ball, soccer, basketball, and running and this past year Cub Scouts. Kerstin has been active in ballet and had her first recital this spring. Rachel played basketball for the high school here so we were busy traveling to her games. She also is quite the artist and won 2 First Place awards at different art contests for one of...(read more)
