About | Friends, You will read obituaries where so and so went to meet her Lord and Savior on such and such date. I'm often suspicious. How do they know? Well I can tell you without a doubt that my dear Nancy definitely went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday. She told us so. She saw Him and told us about it. Praise God. I've got to tell you about the end. Nancy had been mostly unconscious the last 10 days. She was on the sofa in the living room because we couldn't move her without hurting her. On Friday, the personal care attendant came in and gave her a sponge bath, gently applied lotion and powder, and changed her clothes. She was looking nice and smelling nice. See Mark 14:3-9. Then a couple of women from Nancy's Bible study came over. With our daughter we were sitting around Nancy talking worldly things: baseball, guns, and families' black sheep. (Note: if you think your family doesn't have a black sheep, it's probably you.) One of the women stopped and was moved to pray. From the heart, she thanked Him for Nancy and other things. Then the other woman started singing the hymn "Isn't He?" in a beautiful clear voice. When she finished, Nancy was gone. She was taken to heaven during worship! It was beautiful. Since then, I have been gathering photographs for the memorial service. I have been struck by how beautiful she was. It was not blind love. The memorial service will be on August 19 at 11:00 at Calvary Houston. 3700 E FM 528, Friendswood, TX 77546. A lot of Nancy's friends will be there. I would love to see you. If you have any photographs of her feel free to send them to me at rocketman737@gmail.com. I thank all of you who have been with us through this ordeal. The outpouring of love has been overwhelming. Thank you. |
