Class of 1981
Army, 16 Years
I joined the Reserves in 1988 and went on active duty in 1989. I met my husband two weeks after getting to my first duty station (Bitburg, Germany). We have been married 18 years. My next duty station was Ft. Lewis, WA where my son was born. When my son was a year old I went to Egypt for a year and then to Ft. Campbell, KY. There I left the service for 4 years. In April 2001 I joined the Reserves. My unit is a training unit. The chances of us being deployed is slim, but we were activated for 2 years in Ft. Leonard Wood, MO where we trained NG units. We trained them to be MP units and some of them stayed in the States, some went overseas and some were deployed to Iraq.

Our Pocola High School military alumni are some of the most outstanding people we know and this page recognizes them and everything they have done! Not everyone gets to come home for the holidays and we want our Pocola High School Military to know that they are loved and appreciated. All of us in Pocola are proud of our military alumni and want to thank them for risking their lives to protect our country!
