About RACETTE, Michael T. Of Quincy, formerly of Plymouth, died unexpectedly on April 17th at Carney Hospital in Boston. Born in Medford, MA, on March 21, 1973, beloved son of Thomas R. and Anita A. (Maier) Racette of Plymouth. A graduate of Plymouth North High School, class of 1991, he went on to serve with the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Army Reserves. After honorable discharge, Michael earned his BS in Mechanical Engineering from Northeastern University. Michael was a devoted father to his daughter Isabelle Racette of Quincy; and step-father to Alexis LaForest of Middleboro. Also survived by his former wife and best friend, Helena M. McGovern of St. Augustine, FL. Loving brother to Robert Racette and his wife Ashley of North Dartmouth, Ryan Racette and his wife Olivia of Plymouth, Jennifer Racette of Plymouth and Meaghan Lemoyne and her husband Matthew of Bridgewater. Michael was a loving Uncle to Taylor Racette-Murray and Nicolas Racette-Delafano, as well as several additional nieces and nephews. Michael was kind, smart and quick witted. He viewed the world with an open mind and heart. He believed in giving to others so he filled his time with acts of kindness that ranged from volunteering at the Pine Street Inn to going out of his way to help a friend in need. He always wanted to pursue new things. Just in the last year, he started to take dance lessons at the Arthur Murray Dance Studio, received his motorcycle license, his construction supervisor license, his real estate license and his license to carry. Lastly, he took a cross country trip visiting his uncles in California and Las Vegas, then on to Texas and New Orleans, and finally traveled to Florida, where he was able to spend time with his parents. Michael's true joy in life was his family. Whether it was playing corn hole at a family party, playing golf with his Dad, talking with his mom or sisters, watching Seinfeld reruns or going to breakfast, he was happiest being around each of them. His favorite times were hanging out with his daughter Isabelle, she was the true light of his life. Michael was truly loved and will be dearly missed by everyone. Visiting Hours in the Cartmell – Davis Life Celebration Funeral Home, 373 Court St., NORTH PLYMOUTH (near Cordage Park) on Tuesday, April 25th from 4-7pm, with words of remembrance to begin at 7:00pm.
