| About Me | Taught all 40 years in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School System. Field of study was history. Graduated from Pleasantville High and was told I would do best in a profession that did not require college. I knew I was going to teach from the age of 12. Concordia College in Bronxville, NY, gave me a chance when no one else would. I also had applied to West Point. After completing 2 years of Concordia and achieving an AA degree with a 3. average, I selected Arkansas State U. A professor friend and mentor convinced me to attend for my final two years. Again, I was successful in getting a Bachelor of Science in Education degree with a 3.5 gpa. I did my student teaching in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Moved to W-S cause that was the best job offer I had. Married too young and divorced. Met Suzanne in Florida and married in '76. Michael was born in 1980. Coached soccer from 1977 until 2007 both as assistant and head coach. Joined Civil War reenactment group in 1993. Been with them ever since then. Wargaming on several levels is still a passion. While teaching sponsored trips to Europe with students thru EF. Traveled to Japan twice in the 70's as part of the CULCON team from the US. We wrote units on Japan. Had many great educational experiences in my 40 years.
