About Obituary for Ralph W. Kuhn

Ralph W. Kuhn of New York City, NY died on Thursday, August 30 one month before his 70th birthday on October 1, 2012.

Ralph died peacefully in the company of his life-partner Wing Tsang, M.D. and beloved friends and family. Ralph was predeceased by his parents, Ralph (Waffles) Kuhn, Sr. and Ruth (Coupe) Kuhn of Armonk, NY.

An accomplished interior designer, Ralph founded and operated Ralph Kuhn Interiors of Greenwich, CT and NYC. He was also President of Pine City Development LLC, New York, NY and Co-owner of 109 Lafayette Street Realty, LLC, also in NY, NY.

Ralph served honorably in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Oriskany, an Essex class aircraft carrier, and left active military service with an honorable discharge.

Ralph and I have shared many interests over our 16 years of life together, including world travel, business ventures, theater, fine art, cooking and fine dining, and most of all the company of good friends and family.

Ralph was an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous , celebrating his 40th year of continuous sobriety on August 1, 2012. His gratitude for AA was apparent to all who knew he was in the program. His tireless “passing on” of his gift of sobriety helped countless others. He was an example of the Power that has helped so many to recover.

Ralph’s gifts of humor and a great laugh are exceeded only by his integrity and love for others.

He will be missed and always remembered.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Ralph’s name to Jan Hus Presbyterian Church and Neighborhood House, 351 E. 74th Street, NY, NY 10021. Ralph and I have supported the Homeless Outreach Advocacy Program of the church and we invite you to do the same, if you wish. Thank you.
