About Lori B. (Dean) Hostetter, 44, 1025 Chenonceaux Drive, died peacefully in her sleep at 1:45 a.m. Sunday, June 8, 2008, at her home, surrounded by her children and family. Lori fought a long hard battle against the cancer in her body, never giving up until the very end.

Born Sept. 10, 1963, in Marion, she was the daughter of Leroy C. Dean Sr. and Marilyn Kellogg Dean, both survive in Marion.

She was a child care giver in her own home. She was a 1982 graduate of Pleasant High School, active in the high school and color guard and attended Mount Vernon Avenue Church of Christ. She was very active in Pleasant High School PTO.

Her children were the center of her life. Lori enjoyed anything to do with her children and the Pleasant community. She loved having her family get-togethers and cookouts in her backyard and traveling to Amish country.

She is survived by a daughter, Courtney Jo Hostetter, at home; a son, Sam Hostetter, at home; a sister, Sherry Keller, Marion; Leroy Dean Jr., Marion. She is survived by Pat Hostetter, the father of her children; her nieces and nephews, Shawn (Mistee) Keller, Michelle (Clay) Tillman, Brian Dean, Findlay, Chris (Rachel) Fox, Mainsville, Angela Dean, Marysville, Wash., and many great-nephews and great-nieces. She has many close and cherished friends, especially Jan Chase. Towards the end of her life, special care was given to her by Andrea Lyman. She was preceded in death by her sister, Carol Linn Dean.

A memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Mount Vernon Avenue Church of Christ with Minister Phil Williams officiating. Burial is at a later date. Friends may call 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Arrangements are being handled by Boyd Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Hostetter Children's Fund in care of Boyd Funeral Home.
