Boot camp in Great Lakes, My Company, 216 was Great; we broke every record. We finished training with Color Company Status...
Then to Norfolk Va. for school Training in Anti-Submarine Warfare. Then off to Dam-Neck Va. for more school. After Graduation shipped off to Keflavick, Iceland for a 1yr deployment. What a beautiful people, culture & Country. Had to get used to 6 months of daytime and 6 months of nighttime & wicked cold, beautiful northern lights...
After 9 months I injured my back & was in hospital there for 3 weeks with no improvement they Medflighted out to Bethesda Navel Hospital.
There I went through 8 months therapy and treatments so I could walk again...I did it!!
Then they gave me medical discharge.
Went back home. Navy payed for me to go to college. Still have alot of pain everyday, but blessed by the grace of the Lord.

After 4 years in the Corps, Randy went to the University of Pittsburgh, he joined the National Guard in Bradford. He got his degree in Electronics and taught at Bradford High. Later they moved to Pittsburgh (Allison Park), joined the Army Reserves. He then took classes to become and Officer in the Army. He had over 30 years in when he retired. And not long after passed away. He is buried in the Military Cemetery in Pittsburgh, Pa.

Served aboard the USS Inchon MCS 12 from 96-00, (Decommissioned) Came back to N.Y as a Navy Recruiter in the town of Hornell from 00-04. Then served aboard the USS John F. Kennedy from 04-06, (Decommissioned) Came back to N.Y as a Navy Recruiter in the town of Canandaigua from 06-10. Is now serving aboard the Navy’s newest Aircraft Carrier USS George H.W. Bush in Norfolk Virginia.
