About CLEM MARCUS WISER, Jr.
Graduated from Pikeville High School (Ky.) 1942. Entered Pikeville Junior College, but withdrew in Dec 1942 to join U.S. Marine Corps. Attended Boot Camp at Parris Island, South Carolina. Transferred to Engineering School (Surveying and Drafting) Camp LeJeune, North Carolina. Then sent on temporary duty to N. O. B., Marine Detachment, Norfolk, Virginia, for further schooling. Transferred to Dept. of the Pacific Headquarters, San Francisco, Ca. Met and married the love of his life (Olga Diaz De Leon) 8 June 1944. Discharged at Treasure Island, Ca. 25 May 1946. Entered San Francisco State University Sept. 1946. Graduated with BA 1949, and MA in Sec. Administration 1950. Taught English and coached football at Polytechnic High School, S.F., Ca. 1950-51, Soc. Studies and Counselor at Aptos Jr. High, S.F., 1951-55, and moved to Palo Alto, Ca., as Basketball Coach and Athletic Director 1955-1991 at Palo Alto Senior High School. Named Cal. Coach’s Assn. State Coach of Year (Basketball) 1983 and Inducted Cal. Coach’s Assn. State Hall Of Fame 1992.
