About Alva Lee “Buster” Wooldridge, 84, of Jasper Road, Piketon, Ohio, passed away on July 27, 2015 at his home. He was born April 14, 1931 in Jasper, Ohio, son of the late Albert and Anna Wooldridge. On November 10, 1952 Buster married the love of his life for 62 years, the former Helen Brewster who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Rick Wooldridge and wife Teresa of Piketon, Mick Wooldridge and wife Theresa of Piketon and daughter, Tabatha Wooldridge of Jasper. Buster leaves 12 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and one step grandchild as well as a sister, Pickadell Williams of Waverly, Ohio. In addition to his parents, a son Rocky Wooldridge, a grandson and one great grandchild preceded Buster in death.
Buster was an employee of Mead Corporation for many years before starting his own business, Wooldridge Lumber Company of Jasper. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran serving during the Korean Conflict, and was a member of Elm Grove Church of Christ. Buster will be remembered for his sense of humor, political jokes, and love of family.
A celebration of life will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday September 20, 2015 at the Elm Grove Church of Christ with Darrell Pinkerton, Minister officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to NCR Hospice.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Botkin Hornback Funeral Home in Waverly.
