Former Native Dies Suddenly
John B. Dewey, 52, a Pike County native and former Jasper resident of Bloomington, Minn., a suburb of Minneapolis, died suddenly Saturday night, June 21, in Princeton, N. J., while on a business trip.
Mr. Dewey was branch manager for the Wheeling Corrugated Co., of Wheeling Steel Corp.
A 1934 graduate of Piketon High School, he was a son of Paul and Elsie (Shumate) Dewey of Jasper.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Kathryn (Rheinfrank) Dewey, formerly of Piketon; 1 daughter Karyn, and two sons, John B. Jr. and Jay Richard Dewey; one sister, Mrs. Harold Cheeseman of Jasper, and a brother, Paul Dewey of Marietta, Ohio.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Oak Grove Church with burial following in Ft. Snelling Cemetery at Bloomington, Minn. Mr. Dewey’s favorite charity was the Masonic Care Center, Bloomington Masonic Lodge in that city.
