Favorite School Memory	Working on the newpaper staff and year book staff with Suzanne Scarborough, Lynn Scott, Bill Murphy George Williams and other new friends. George Williams #1 PHS Tennis Player went on to graduate from the University of Michigan. Riding to school each morning with Janet Woodard. Going off campus to McDonalds everyday for lunch with Janet, Kelly Cross, Debbie Phelps, Dean Schinn and others until we got caught. Spending lots of time in Guidance being tutored by a great friend Dave Mefford. Bert Carrs English Class, Ray Smith, History Ray getting Janet Woodard and Trixie Hollingsworth to type all of his tests for him. Mr. Watson's Government Class. Dave Ankeney (Marketing/DECA) Mr. Paul's English Class (May he rest in peace) Good Times on the SCA Executive Board with Boo Williams, Bill Murphy & more. Classes with Gwen Parker, Jimmy Hunt, and Debbie Becouvirakis (May she rest in Peace) The times I went on the Ft. Monroe base and Richard Burns taught me photograhy which I have continued to love even today. Homecoming parade - Newpaper Staff Float (Lynn Scott's Fathers Car) we ruined the paint job by applying hundreds of yards of tape all over it. Lynn was the Editor and she was awesome IStill Is). The Hearn Twins..wonderful family. Boo Williams vs. Art Jones in PHS vs. HHS Basketball Game. PHS Girls Basketball Team STATE Champions. Ring Dance with my very best friend, Janet Woodard (since Kindegarten). Senior Prom with good friend Debbie Phelps. A grandfather's pocket watch given as a graduation gift from my very best friend. Driven home each day by Trixie Hollingsworth at 75 mph so she could watch the beginning of her favorite soap opera and we'd eat lemon pie. Going to Pizza Hut with Bobby Phillips, Eric Berlin and friends after the football games. Lynn Watson, fabulous PHS tennis player. and a victory party she threw at her house. Football Team-1st Year Score: Phoebus 0 vs. Bethel 0 (Tied) Bethel went on to win the State Championship that year. Senior Class Officers and Executive Board. Marching next to good friend Curt Newsome at graduation. Curt went on to coach football, winning a State Championship at Heritage High. He coached at James Madison University and now coaches at Virginia Tech. The only MALE in typing class with Mrs. Wilson (May she rest in Peace) It was difficult to list my favorite memory as there are so many and long life lasting friendships were created by a class that had to leave Hampton and Kecoughtan High to form the first graduating class o...(read more)
