John died of sudden and unexpected heart failure.
John is survived by his wife, Julie; children Andrea (Bryan), Meggie, Amy, and Tim(Alaina); and grandchildren Cora, Mac, Luke, Augie, Rhys, and Corwyn. A memorial service was held in April for friends and former co-workers and one in July for immediate family members.
