Class of 1970

So I was minding my own business 6th grade Elm Grove, when I noticed other kids with band instruments… and I was never notified…so I took an old metal clarinet leftover from previous dud siblings in and said “what am I…chopped liver?” Following in brother Jim’s example, I got a tenor sax and formed a dixieland band on the side of the regular band(s) offered. Jack Harsh thought it trite so Dave Pew suggested Matt Blistan to me as a replacement. Matt would thusly turn from baseball to music & play with Prince by ‘85. A 1974 stint in Col. O. killer funk band Liaja, Vernon Porter on bass. Vernon was on the Kenny Loggins hits circa 1981.
