As Doug's mother ,one of the most memorable times of my life ,not to mention, the most exciting time of my life. Every weekend whether away of home my family and I traveled 3 1/2 hurs up to PERRSYBURG every Fridy for the big event.
My son Doug started at the age of 5 yrs.. His commiitment was never ending and always goal oriented. He always wanted to win, was a team player. Doug was always taught as a young athelet that staying safe without injurty was making sure that you hit the other guy harder than they hit you. He allways played from the heart wht total conviction, and concentration. Doug was a joy to watch it was alwasys exciting. many times he played on Offense and defense. I remember the following mornings when he could barely move , walk or get out of bed. Howver, he never failed to make it to those Saturday morning team meetings and review. He never missed a practice or an opportunity to help a fellow team memeber.His goal was to alwasys play professionally. Diana martin.
