About Event
On October 7th-9th, 2011 the P.T.H.S. Class of ’63 held its 48th Year High School Class Reunion in Pompton Plains, NJ. 82 classmates attended. Add spouses and friends, a total of 116 attended our reunion! Our class was comprised of about 130 classmates; 20 unfortunately passed, 9 were not located, and 17 could not attend. A few classmates from the Class of ’61 & Class of ’64 also attended. On Friday evening, we met at the Lincoln Park Airport Sunset Pub & Grill for our “Ice Breakerâ€. The gathering helped us to re-acquaint ourselves. Finger foods & light beverages were provided. Saturday was downtime, “On Your Ownâ€. Classmates could tour their hometown and see some new sights, visit relatives and friends, and eat at some of the past-time places if they still existed. Saturday afternoon was optional. We scheduled a visit to P.T.H.S. Sixty of us attended. We had a very enjoyable tour, which brought back many memories. Saturday night was our “Main Eventâ€. This was held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Route 46, Fairfield, NJ. The “Main Event†included a buffet dinner and music throughout the night. Awards of Recognition was given out to various classmates. The highlight of the night was two slide/music presentations; one dealt with candid and memorable classmate pictures plus pictures of the past. The other was a look back at our town and the nostalgic times of the 50’s & 60’s. Each classmate received a goodie-bag printed with our P.T.H.S. logo. In the goodie bag was a 6 page Reunion Program, a Class Directory, a 4-CD pack of 50’s & 60’s music, a DVD with all the presentations, plus odds & ends of trivia information of the 50’s & 60’s. Everyone received a wine glass with our reunion information printed on the glass. Sunday, we had a “Goodbye Farewell for Now†breakfast at the hotel where we could share our thoughts one more time. More pictures were taken. All in all, we had a great time. We connected. We left with a renewed friendship and found our respect for each other never faded. It was always there. We hope to continue to be in touch with one and another in the future. Our program, directory, 300+ pictures, and presentations are available online until June 2012. for those who wish to download or view them.
