About Me	After returning from the USA in 1974 I initially worked as a computer programmer for 7 years before joining Thames Valley Police. I spent my entire 30 year police career in the north of the Force (Aylesbury, Milton Keynes, Woodstock, Thame etc) until February 2012 when I retired as a Detective Sergeant from the Economic Crime Unit. I was then contracted for a couple of years to the British State Department (Foreign Office) dealing with national security vetting issues but am now fully retired having recently completed the renovation of a rental property in my hometown. My wife, Merril and I married in 1986. She continues to practice as a prosecuting lawyer but intends to retire in July 2018. We have 2 adult children Sian (27yrs) and Gareth (24yrs). Sian is a mental health nurse and Gareth an officer with the Royal Navy submarine service. I remember with great fondness all my British and American school friends and former IT workmates and the many fun nights down the Red Lion pub in Langley (as well as many other pubs in many other places). I cannot say that I remember my school days at Langley Grammar School (LGS) with much affection and in 1973 left LGS a year early to take part in a 12 month school exchange programme at Perkasie High School, Pennsylvania, USA. I have kept in touch with many of my friends from both from the States and the UK. I like to keep fit and am a regular hiker and walker and this summer (2017) completed all 200 miles of the Coast To Coast footpath walking across the beautiful Lake District, Yorkshire dales and Yorkshire moors. I have always loved old English sports cars and have owned a few over the years, so in 2010 and prior to my retirement I bought a 1957 MGA which is now completely restored and my pride and joy. In June 2014, Merril and I flew back to Pa to attend my first (and so far only) class-reunion, the 40th reunion of the Class of ’74.
