Taught at alternative high school in Oakland for 4 years... met my wife, and we started the Pitts burgh Laboratory Theater, a professional represtory theater as artistic director for 13 years,,, moved to Philadelphia in 1984 to become Director of Penn's Landing, produced numerus concerts and outdoor music festivals... 1991 established The Royston Company, producing jazz festival in PA, DE, MD, Mexico, Oregon and Washington... became Artistic Director of the prestigioud Mt Hood Jazz Festival in 1996, and started the Portland Jazz Festival in 2003... three kids: Josh (37) from first marriage, who still lifes in Pittsburgh, Sara (25, now attneding med scholl, and Tyler (21), making his way as chef and bremaster for Oregon micorbrewery.
